Our major international travel has been suspended during the pandemic, but we continue to enjoy the Seattle area and wonderful (and dog-friendly) weekend breaks. After living ten years apart in New York and Chicago; Unique and innovative glampsites being featured here; It’s a lot of fun to rediscover and rediscover unique boutique hotels and Airbnbs. Honestly, Coho Oceanfront stole my heart with those oceanfront fire pits. Although this Oregon Coast Inn is a short drive from Seattle, its beautiful, modern interior and views of the Pacific Ocean make it worth the trip. We also accept dogs under 25 kilos in some rooms – more details here.
My New Year’s resolution is to book a dream property in St. Edward ASAP – it’s only half an hour’s drive out of town, so it should be easy. This historic landmark school has been restored as a luxurious and stylish resort located on 326 acres of land directly on the shores of Lake Washington. I had a perfect weekend at The Lodges on Vashon in January 2020 – blogged about it here – and the memories carry me through the early months. We had a wonderful Easter weekend in Semiahmoo in 2019 and can’t wait to return to its beautiful scenery and remote beach that Lizzie loved exploring. Just a stone’s throw from the Canadian border. This relaxing resort is the perfect base for great hikes and the incredible coastal scenery of Northern Washington. They are very dog friendly and allow the puppies their own bowl, Beds and (at least during our stay) we were greeted with souvenirs. Details about the dog here

Anacortes is one of my favorite trips. nice shops, Drive about half an hour north of Seattle to this charming downtown beach town with delicious cafes and water views. (Watermark Book Co. is one of my favorite bookstores in Washington.) We love The Majestic, a downtown inn known for its cozy guest rooms and stunning rooftop bar. Ok So this is not technically available yet; But we signed up for notifications to book these beautiful camping trailers in the Olympic National Park for the second time. They go beyond standard camping and still offer a quiet and sustainable way to get into nature. I’m obsessed with the beautiful new Water’s Edge suites at the historic Orcas Island lodge, which have private balconies overlooking the beach. I see him bound with a book. If you haven’t heard of Tentrr, you’re missing out. I stayed with them twice (I blogged about it during my trip to Vermont and Maine) and each trip was amazing. Basically, They’re Washington; Luxury safari lodges are being set up on private land, such as this beautiful garden near Mead. You can choose to pay a little more to have one of the farm fresh fruits or eggs delivered to your site for a delicious mural. You can read more about Tentrr’s puppy policy here.
Admittedly, Idaho is a bit of a drive from Seattle, but I’m willing to drive any distance to experience that fresh air. Also, the little details like the indoor sauna and the old coffee grinder really melt my heart. Pets are welcome, judging by the stairwell entrance, but could this be a fun vacation for you?
