Burlington, Vermont is one of New England’s most dog-friendly destinations. With incredible outdoor adventures and a hip, laid-back downtown, Burlington is as much a playground for dogs as it is for their companions. You will find many fun things for your child. Bike the Burlington Greenway along the shores of Lake Champlain, then stop to sample local beer at one of the many dog-friendly breweries. Beer places in Burlington that allow patio pops include Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery, while places like Switchback Brewing Co allow dogs inside, too. Church Street Marketplace, one of New England’s most popular pedestrian (and puppy) malls, has plenty of dog-friendly dining and shopping. Dog-friendly patios abound in the city, including coffee hotspot Black-Eyed Susan and eclectic American bistro Quiquez. Sit back and spend some time at the quiet bed and breakfast Brass Lantern Inn, which welcomes four-legged friends to select rooms for a nominal fee.

Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes that no family vacation is complete without four-legged family members. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of all sizes in the cottages, for a daily fee of $20 per pet. To book online, you can select any of the cottages, and then add the pet fee at checkout.
This resort has everything you need for the perfect vacation without leaving its vast 700 hectares. Choose from a wide range of fun activities for the whole family, from the countryside to the lake. The pool and guest waterfront are pet-free areas, but dogs have their own designated swimming area, Fanny’s Beach. We were even able to rent a boat to go out on the lake with Roscoe! Additionally, you can dine at one of the resort’s five on-site restaurants. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room, but are welcome to dine with you at Red Mill in the outdoor casual seating area. Dog walking and sitting services are also available if you want to have fun without Fido.

Get Your Dog Friendly Kicks On Route 66
The Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a stylish boutique hotel from Lark Hotels. Like most of their properties, their pet policy allows dogs under 70lbs for an additional fee of $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of their three dog-friendly cottage suites, which have plenty of space and a private outside entrance. You can book these suites online, just be sure to add a note at checkout with your dog’s number, size and name. Dogs should not be left alone in guest rooms. Out of respect for other guests, dogs on a leash are only allowed outside the verandah and common areas of the hotel.
