The private beach is 5 miles from North Berwick and the car park is accessed via a narrow road off the A198 at Aldham.

Also nearby are the ruins of Tantalon Fort with red sandstone curtain walls 15 meters high and 90 meters long. It is very hidden at the west end and only accessible at low tide. Amazing views of Dantalan Castle and Bass Rock from the sea. Stormy seas and cold. Despite the wind, it was a lovely walk.
